Liaoning Provincial People's Congress Delegation Holds Friendly Meeting with US-China Business Council
On December 20, 2023, Ms. Xu Wei, First-level Inspector of the Standing Committee of the Liaoning Provincial People's Congress, Mr. Liu Yang of the Ethnic Affairs and Foreign Affairs Committee of the Liaoning Provincial People's Congress, and Ms. Li Hongpeng of the Eurasian and African Affairs Department of the Liaoning Provincial People's Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries held an important meeting at the US-China Business Council office in Maryland, USA. Also attending the meeting were Mr. Li Qili, President of the US-China Business Council, Mr. Chen Fenchun, Honorary President, Mr. Xie Xintan, Honorary President, Mr. Liang Zhongping, General Counsel of the Chamber of Commerce, Ms. Michelle Han, Secretary-General, and Ms. Jia Xibei, Minister of Publicity.
During the meeting, the two sides had friendly and in-depth exchanges and conducted in-depth discussions on the economy, culture, ethnic and overseas Chinese affairs of their respective regions. This exchange is an important interaction between the governments and social organizations of China and the United States, aiming to deepen mutual understanding and promote friendly cooperation. During the meeting, Ms. Xu Wei introduced the measures and achievements of the Liaoning Provincial People's Congress Standing Committee in promoting economic development and improving people's livelihood. She shared the work of the Liaoning Provincial People's Congress Ethnic Affairs, Overseas Chinese Affairs and Foreign Affairs Committee in safeguarding the rights and interests of overseas Chinese and promoting cultural exchanges between China and foreign countries.
On behalf of the US-China Business Council, Mr. Li Qili warmly welcomed the Liaoning delegation and expressed appreciation for the progress Liaoning Province has made in various fields. He emphasized the potential for cooperation between China and the United States in the fields of economy, trade, culture, etc., and hoped that the friendly relations between China and the United States would be further strengthened through this exchange.
